Description

Willetts Farmhouse, sitting peacefully within idyllic countryside surroundings, is a beautiful home where the charm of its period origins have been effortlessly complemented by more recent additions. From the moment you step through the front door, the generous reception hallway sets the tone, spacious and welcoming, with the versatility to serve as an extra dining area for large family gatherings.

The main reception spaces flow with ease. There is a cosy family room, complete with a freestanding log-burner, perfect for quiet evenings by the fire, while the spacious drawing room is bathed in natural light, and has ample storage. Opening directly onto the garden this lovely room has a calm and relaxed atmosphere. The heart of the home is the expansive kitchen and dining area, well-appointed with bespoke cabinetry, and a wood-topped island with breakfast bar, the perfect versatile and stylish family space. French doors open on to the terrace, which has been beautifully designed and planted creating a lovely outside eating area. A wonderful, very generous, boot room has access out to the stables whilst a WC off the kitchen completes the ground floor accommodation.

Upstairs, four lovely bedrooms are arranged around a spacious and light central landing, each thoughtfully designed to offer calm and comfort. The principal suite is a wonderful space with its own dressing room and a beautifully appointed en suite, while the family bathroom features both a bath and a separate shower, finished to a high standard with great attention to detail.

The gardens are well planned with pretty borders, an orchard and many mature trees providing a great sense of privacy at the property. The outside terrace leads to a large flat lawn, with views over the paddocks, this leads off to a well-established orchard to the side. There is a secluded swimming pool surrounded by hedging, creating a wonderful sun trap and a pool house with changing facilities.

Beyond the main house, two annexes extend the living space with character and flexibility. The Old Granary, a striking two-storey detached conversion, provides a one-bedroom dwelling with a vaulted first-floor sitting room tucked beneath wonderful exposed beams, and a well-designed ground floor that includes a kitchen/diner, bedroom, and bathroom, a very versatile space for guests, extended family, a home office or, as it is currently used, for holiday lets. Stable Cottage offers separate single storey accommodation, enjoys its own private parking and comprises a sitting room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. This had been let on a long term basis. There is also a generous separate utility room perfect for handling the needs of a busy family, and a lovely kitchen and cutting garden carefully located just to the side of the main house.

The outbuildings beyond the kitchen garden form the main stable block with 5 stables, a tack room and store. There is also a room, recently converted to a very high standard, now used as a office and gym. In the paddocks beyond, there are two field shelters, a walker and a menage. There are several paddocks and direct access from the property onto the bridle path, making this a truly wonderful equestrian property.
