This exceptional four-bedroom detached home, with three double bedrooms, is a true hidden gem, enjoying complete privacy, outstanding estuary views, and a versatile self-contained annexe. Occupying an elevated position that captures sweeping panoramas across the water and surrounding countryside, the property offers a rare opportunity to enjoy peaceful, scenic living while benefiting from generous indoor and outdoor space.

Set within approximately a third of an acre, the beautifully landscaped gardens are every bit as impressive as the home itself. Mature trees, shrubs, and meandering pathways create a secluded retreat, while raised vegetable beds and established fruit trees will delight any gardening enthusiast. To the rear, a newly developed entertaining area with stylish stone slabbing and a built-in BBQ provides the perfect setting for hosting family and friends, or simply unwinding while soaking in the breathtaking estuary backdrop.

Inside, the home has been thoughtfully modernised, with elegant wood flooring throughout creating a seamless flow between rooms. The generous living spaces are ideal for both entertaining and family life, while the recently re-fitted bathrooms bring a touch of luxury with their contemporary fixtures and spa-like finish.

All four bedrooms are well-proportioned, offering flexible accommodation for families, guests, or home working. Large windows throughout flood the interiors with natural light and make the most of the home’s elevated position and spectacular water views.

Of particular note is the lower ground floor annexe, which can be fully self-contained. This versatile space offers an ideal solution for multi-generational living, guest accommodation, or even an additional income stream. Alternatively, it provides the perfect setup for a home office or studio, separate from the main living areas.

Owner insight

This home has been a true haven, and while we would happily stay forever, sadly unexpected health issues forces sale.

Over the years, we have made many improvements to the property, which include the two large bathrooms and kitchen and decorating throughout. The drive has been laid with tarmac and the roof has been cleaned clearing it of lots of moss. We’ve poured our hearts into transforming this property into the beautiful home it is today. The location was a major draw for us—quiet, private, and yet, when we needed to travel for work, we loved how easily accessible it was for the A38, just a few minutes off the main road and the city centre is just a 10 minute drive.

The garden has been perfect for us with its beautiful landscaping and slabbed barbecue area that we have shared with lots of friends. We even had our wedding reception here this year in the garden, with many friends joining us. If you like gardening this is truly a gardeners delight it has everything from daffodils to fruit trees (apple, plum and cherry), banana tree to an azalea.

If you have dogs the garden is very secure and provides them with a huge enrichment area. We also share the garden with lots of wildlife which we have enjoyed immensely and will also miss very much when we leave here.

The summerhouse has electric and has been used as a yoga space, and also to have a quiet evening drink to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenic river views, it’s a truly functional area.

We find the house to be truly economical with the new boiler and solar thermal for heating the hot water. The log burner is economical too and saves us a fortune in energy bills over the winter.

If it wasn’t for deteriorating health and needing to move forward we wouldn’t consider leaving here, it’s a wonderful home but time for someone else to enjoy all the benefits here. If you are looking for a quiet property but close to all amenities then please arrange a viewing.

There are architect plans drawn up for a loft conversion which can be seen whilst viewing the property.

We also have an almost 3 acre paddock approx a 10 minute drive from here which we would be happy to consider selling at an agreed price. It is not up for sale separately at this stage.
