Description

5 Station Road is located in the peaceful village of Stottesdon in the south east of Shropshire. The beautiful property was originally two cottages, being merged into one previously, which have been transformed into a charming country home. There is also plenty of room to extend further.

Upon entrance across a gravel driveway, you enter the property through double doors to the side of the house, which has engineered oak flooring which continues into the reception rooms. There is a utility and boot room ahead with a WC. The formal sitting/dining room has an inglenook stone fireplace with a wood burning stove. Despite being renovated, the cottage has very much kept the original characterful features, such as exposed beams, deep window sills and some original oak doors. The sitting room has French doors to the back garden, with views towards the menage and land.

The stunning, modern bespoke kitchen has quarry tiled flooring, a Belfast sink, and ample storage with fitted units. There are exposed beams and a gorgeous central island and breakfast bar with Quartz worktops, There is an integrated fridge and freezer, integrated dishwasher, and Range Master oven with electric oven and gas hob. There is also access, and a walk through to the dining room. Stairs rise to the first floor where there are three bedrooms.

The principal bedroom has exposed beam features, a Velux window and a sink and WC. Bedroom two is a double bedroom with fitted cupboards for storage, a WC and sink, and lovely views to Brown Clee Hill and over the paddocks. Bedroom three is a double bedroom and has built in storage, and a Velux window. This could also be an office space or a dressing room. A sliding oak door leads into the family bathroom, and has a slipper bath and separate shower. The landing is flooded with natural light through two more Velux windows.

Outside
A side gates leads onto the gravel driveway where there is room for parking. A patio continues around the back and side of the house, where there is space for seating, followed by a lawn area which overlooks the paddock land and countryside beyond. The hard standing driveway continues to a wider parking area, with the stables to your left and access to the paddocks. This area is ideal for parking a small horse lorry or trailer.

There are four separately fenced winter paddocks. The stables are within a wooden barn which is tucked away, within the plot, with a useful feed room next to two stables. There is also a power point, and tack room with lighting, and a wash box with a gas operated shower along with a tractor/hay store which could potentially be used as further stabling. There is additional storage above the barn stabling and a separate tool shed with lighting.

A pathway leads from the stables to the 20 x 40m ménage which has floodlighting and a silica sand surface. There is a decking area at the edge of the menage for sitting out and watching the arena action. There is planning permission in place for a horse walker.

At the bottom of the land is a wonderful spinney, accessed via a gate and is maintained by the current owners to hold a wildlife and conservation area. It is filled with bluebells, wild garlic and daffodils during the spring, and there is a green pond, and a wonderful swing.
