For those interested in woodland ownership and management, Beech Wood presents an ideal opportunity. As the name suggests, beech trees of varying ages dominate the landscape, complemented by mature oak, birch, chestnut, hornbeam, ash, western hemlock, and hawthorn. Adding a distinctive touch, impressive redwoods line the boundary, creating striking contrast and scale.

The woodland is open and well-spaced, allowing ample light to reach the forest floor. The terrain is flat and well-drained, with seasonal bluebell displays adding to its charm. With no formal paths, the site is easy to explore in any direction, and numerous clearings offer potential bases for woodland activities.

Muntjac and roe deer are frequent visitors, adding to the site's rich natural character.

The village of Wickham Bishops, with shops, restaurants, and the Green Man pub, is within walking distance. The town of Witham, a short drive away, offers a full range of amenities and a railway station with direct services to London.

The ward is Wickham Bishops and Woodham and the county council is Essex.

Boundaries: The boundary is open on all sides and borders neighbouring woodland and access tracks E, W and N. S follows a drainage channel.

Access: There is excellent vehicle access via two points and shared locked gates leading directly from Witham Road. Parking is possible within the woodland itself and in a shared parking area.

Covenant: There is a covenant on the wood designed to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of this and adjoining woodlands.

Viewing: You are welcome to visit this wood by yourself, but please download the details showing the location of the woodland and ensure that you have a copy of these sales details with you. For viewing purposes, please park opposite the entrance in Wellands as marked on the map. Please don't block the gates.

Cross over the road and pass by the gate. Follow the track marked blue on the map bearing left. Once you pass the parking/turning area, Beech Wood will be on your left.
