*Vendor comments* "We were fortunate to come across this lovely home on Ringwood Avenue in September 2001, just a few weeks before welcoming a new addition to our family. As we approached the property, we were instantly charmed by the tree-lined street and the welcoming atmosphere, with houses occupied by families from a diverse range of backgrounds. The front of the property offered convenient parking for one car. As soon as we stepped inside, we immediately felt a sense of warmth and comfort—it just felt right.

The hallway was bright and inviting, leading into a spacious through-lounge. We were impressed by the abundance of natural light pouring in through the front bay windows and the wide doors that opened into the original conservatory. Though compact, the kitchen offered ample storage and was thoughtfully laid out.

Stepping into the garden from the conservatory, we were pleased to find a generously sized outdoor space that was easy to maintain—perfect for a growing family.

Back inside, we made our way to the first floor and were pleasantly surprised by the brightness of the three bedrooms and the family bathroom. At that point, it felt like home. We knew it was the right place for us. We completed the purchase and moved in by early November 2001.

We wasted no time transforming the house into our own. The front garden was converted into a driveway with space for two cars. We installed a UPVC porch door with a side panel to allow more light into the hallway. We also replaced the patio and kitchen doors and upgraded all windows with high-quality double glazing. The old conservatory was removed and replaced with a modern, spacious one to better suit the needs of a young and busy family.

To keep maintenance simple, we lined the walls with paintable lining paper and replaced all carpets with beautiful, durable exotic Merbau wood flooring in the entrance hall and through-lounge—a stunning feature that, even after nearly 25 years, remains a highlight. The bedrooms were fitted with oak-effect laminate flooring, making cleaning quick and easy.

We also removed the chimney breasts from two bedrooms to maximise space and installed a new central heating system with a reliable Worcester Bosch combi boiler. Thanks to the premium double-glazed windows and a well-insulated loft, the home boasts a respectable EPC rating of C.

Ringwood Avenue is a quiet and peaceful street, set away from the main road, with most properties occupied by families. Therapia Lane Tram Stop is just a five-minute walk away, and Croydon's mainline stations are only a short distance by car. Wimbledon is about 25 minutes away. A wide range of major retailers, including IKEA, B&Q, Currys, M&S, Sainsbury’s, Lidl, Aldi, and Next, as well as Valley Park shopping centre, are all within a few minutes’ drive.
