The Property

This attractive family home was built in the mid 1930’s and was significantly renovated in 2000. The bright and spacious entrance hall leads to all main rooms on the ground floor. To the right is a reception room featuring a modern fireplace with log burner. To the rear is the lounge where you will find a centrally-positioned brick-built pillar which is an original feature and used to be the corner of the old house. From this room, patio doors open out onto the rear garden.

The kitchen, located at the back, comprises a range of wall and base units and integrated appliances (oven, hob, dishwasher, freezer) and a large freestanding fridge. Further along is the utility room which is equipped with storage cupboards and also houses a separate washing machine and tumble dryer. A cloakroom and a conveniently located downstairs WC complete the ground floor accommodation.

Stairs with metal bannister take you to the first floor where you find four good size double bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room, and a family bathroom.

Externally to the front is a large gravel driveway, offering off-street parking for several cars. Lockable gates to either side of the house lead to the rear garden which has two areas that are separated by a spacious annexe. Direct outside the house is a paved patio with a step leading to the lawn alongside which a wide paved path takes you to the annexe which benefits from a water connection and heating, making this an ideal location for a home office or even a workout studio. Behind the annexe is the second part of the garden, where another patio area is set apart from the lawn by a large raised bed.

Downview is located next door to Downside Village Hall. Downside Common, worth a stroll around, The Cricketers Pub and Downside Sports & Social Club are literally on your doorstep.

NEW NAME. SAME COMMITMENT In 2021, my sister Claire and I took over the business that our father established in 2002. Since then, we’ve been on an incredible journey – and one that culminated in 2023 with a rebrand that saw us change from Grosvenor Billinghurst to Grosvenor . However, our new name quickly caught the attention of an asset management company, with a similar name, and we entered into legal discussions. Of course, being faced with this predicament so soon after launching a new identity was initially a blow; we had invested a lot of time, money and energy into the rebrand. But after really reflecting on the name Grosvenor in the context of the direction the business is now heading in, this new problem became an exciting opportunity. Firstly, Grosvenor was simply a name chosen by our father many years ago. It had no real bearing on who we are as a business today. Nor did it have any direct links back to Claire and I as owners. Furthermore, as a second-generation family business, it’s our name that is, as they say, above the door. And it’s our name that’s important when it comes to driving the business forwards – not Grosvenor . So, whilst the decision to change our name for a second time in 12 months was initiated by external factors, we’re glad that it’s happened. Now, the values that form the foundation of the business are no longer ascribed to Grosvenor, but to Davies Property Partners – our new (and final) name. With our family name now at the centre of the business and this newfound opportunity to celebrate our roots, we feel more invigorated than ever. As a family-owned and managed business that’s started a brand-new chapter, we now look forward to continuing our journey and being part of yours as you embark on your next chapter – either as a seller, buyer, landlord or tenant.
