Superb waterside three bedroom residence with stunning estuary views, bespoke with a private mooring

Description

Originally built in the 1700s, Captain's Cabin has been renovated to an exceptionally high standard. With direct access to the water and convenient mooring, this modernized stone cottage, set over 4 floors, offers stunning views across the estuary. It is the perfect retreat to enjoy the comings and goings along the water.

The meticulous attention to detail and outstanding quality of the finish is evident throughout the property. Features include engineered oak floors with underfloor heating, oak doors and shelving, and a Sonos audio system. All doors and windows are equipped with state-of-the-art integrated blinds, and both the heating and burglar alarm can be controlled remotely. Additionally, a flood barrier has been installed as a precaution for the future, even though it has not been necessary to date.

A small lobby leads from the Passage Street into the main reception room. This beautiful room offers stunning views across to Bodinnick and Daphne Du Maurier’s Ferryside. The fully equipped, well-designed kitchen has Miele appliances, a Quooker hot tap, an island with seating and pendant lighting. The living area features a cozy log-effect fire, perfect for dark winter nights. Sliding doors lead onto a decked balcony with a glass balustrade, offering excellent estuary views. Glass floor panels provide interest as well as light for the downstairs hallways.

The lower hallway, accessed from the living area, features custom wine storage and elegant limestone flooring. This hallway leads to an additional reception room, or second bedroom, with log burner. A second terrace with seating space offers direct access to the beach at low tide, along with a mooring for small boats, available with a license from FHC. Once again, you can enjoy the stunning views stretching across to Boddinick and beyond. A fully equipped utility and excellent tiled shower room, with pebble floor and rainfall shower, can also be found on this level.

Stairs from the lobby lead up to the principal bedroom suite located on the first floor, which offers stunning views. This room includes a convenient dressing area and built-in storage. The fully tiled en suite features a walk-in shower, dual sinks, and a window to the front.

The third bedroom on the second floor, with bespoke shelving and storage, is a versatile space and offers views of the harbour. There is also a beautiful fully tiled en suite.

Location

Foweys quays and beaches are perfect for exploring. The town, with its narrow winding streets and historic buildings, offers a mix of independent shops, galleries, restaurants and cafes. A short trip across the Fowey Estuary on the Bodinnick Ferry takes you to the popular villages of Bodinnick and Polruan and further on Looe and Polperro.

Part of the Southwest Coast Path leads to Readymoney Cove, passing St Catherines Castle, a perfect place to pause and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views of the Estuary and beyond. Much of the surrounding woodland is owned by The National Trust.
