Further popular villages in the area include Membury and Dalwood, which also has a community run shop and popular public house. About 6.5 miles to the South West is the busy market town of Honiton which has a variety of shops including many antique shops, a sports centre/swimming pool and mainline rail link to London (Waterloo).

The Cathedral City of Exeter to the west is also close at hand, with an excellent shopping centre, state and independent schools, sports and leisure facilities, a mainline rail link to London (Paddington), M5 access and International Airport.

The wonderful World Heritage Coastline at Lyme Bay, known as the Jurassic Coast, is about 10 miles to the south and is a popular destination with its dramatic cliffs, stunning coastal walks and beaches.
