Property History
Tomhommie was a working farm from at least the early 1800’s to the 1980’s, part of Cawdor Estate. The barn to the rear of the property was sold separately, prior to 1987 and is used for commercial storage.
The farmhouse was then sold in 1987, and the new owners instructed professional contractors to protect the property from damp and woodworm. This work was guaranteed for 30 years. A recent survey by a qualified consultant, has confirmed that any evidence of woodworm is historical and there is no requirement for any further treatment work. All related documents are available for inspection.
The current owners have in the past 21 years carried out further improvements including installing double glazed windows, a modern heating system, repointing to some walls and both chimneys stacks, and the refurbishment of the kitchen.
