High Winds and Meadville are in a prime position on a quiet residential road on the northerly edge of Peterhead. The outlook to the Craigewan sandy beach and links golf course is superb. Also visible from the property is the oldest building in Peterhead, the Salmon Smoke House, which dates from 1585. The Collieburn Path which follows the banks of the River Ugie is a lovely walk from the property. Peterhead is a historic coastal fishing town and the largest settlement in Aberdeenshire after Aberdeen itself, with a population of over 19,000. The town has a range of amenities including a variety of shops, supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, sporting facilities and a community centre. It also has good bus links to Aberdeen city and surrounding areas together with a Park & Ride facility at nearby Ellon which is popular with commuters. In addition, there is a range of primary schools and Peterhead Academy provides secondary schooling.
