The Dower House is a former Georgian manor house that was originally part of the Gatton Park Estate owned by Sir Jeremiah Colman of Colman Mustard fame. The estate was subsequently divided and The Dower House was converted into a number of smaller residences.

It is located in a semi-rural position off Rocky Lane directly on the North Downs Way providing extensive rural walks but also on the edge of beautiful open spaces at Gatton Park.

The commuter town of Redhill is two miles away and is home to The Light cinema and leisure activity centre and recreational facilities at Donyngs sports centre and swimming pool.

The market town of Reigate is three miles away and offers an impressive range of shops and services in the best tradition of English rural communities. The picturesque streets have a delightfully modern, cosmopolitan feel and where independent boutiques rub shoulders with popular high street stores.

Merstham station is a mile walk away, and provides frequent Southern Rail services to London Bridge and Victoria. Otherwise, commuting to London is simple from Redhill with Southern and Thameslink services into London from 35 minutes along with routes to a variety of other destinations.

The M25, Junction 8, is accessed very easily, with links to London and the wider motorway network. For the frequent air traveller Gatwick Airport is around ten miles to the south whilst Heathrow Airport is within 30 miles.
