About the area
Kingsdon is a small historic village which is settled in the undulating hills of South Somerset with far reaching views to the east and south. The village lies to the North of the A303 meaning commuting to the west and east is within a 10 minute drive of the ancient market town of Somerton. The town is well known for its charming market square. There is no through traffic and a wealth of historic cottages and elegant houses of individual character line the quiet streets. The 13th Century church, traditional old thatched pub, community shop and a village hall all add to the spirit of this desirable town. For further shopping and recreational activities, Bath, Bristol, Wells and Yeovil are all within an hour’s drive.

Local schools are excellent and with tertiary education available at Yeovil College and Strode College in Street. Independent schools include Hazelgrove Prep School 7 miles, Millfield School 8 miles, Sherborne School 12 miles and Wells Cathedral School 17 miles.

Transport links are excellent and easy access to the A303 provides a direct route to London via the M3. There is a mainline rail service from Castle Cary to London Paddington (approx. 2 hours) and also the new train to Waterloo.
