Bishop's Waltham is a delightful small medieval town situated at the source of the River Hamble, surrounded by many villages. It is home to the ruins of Bishop's Waltham Palace.

The High Street has a variety of shops, salons, cafes and traditional inns and occasional antiques and French markets are held on the High Street. Nearby Winchester has a more
comprehensive range of shops fine restaurants and contemporary bars as well as the famous Cathedral.

There are both state and independent schools in the loca area – Bishops Waltham Infant and Junior Schools, Swanmore College of Technology provide state schooling. Independent schools include Woodhill Primary School, The Gregg School in Southamtpton whilst Winchester College and St Swithun’s are a short drive away in Winchester.
