The “Temple” in the place name is believed to relate to the Knights Templar who held the manors of Cameley and Cloud around 1200AD. There is great access to Bristol, Bath and Wells and within the village there is an excellent primary school, petrol station with a general store and a doctors surgery. The Temple Inn Public House is in the heart of the village offering good food and a friendly atmosphere. There is a regular bus service on the main road and also the school bus to Chew Valley School. Mainline rail services are available from Bristol and Bath whilst Bristol International Airport is a short drive away. There are several farm shops, golfing at Farrington Gurney, sailing at the Chew Valley lakes and excellent walks.
