Charming terraced cottage in the heart of Beaconsfield Old Town, just over a mile to Beaconsfield station.

Description

This charming mid terraced cottage is ideally located in a quiet square in the heart of Beaconsfield Old Town. Built in about 1925 the property has been thoughtfully extended and updated in recent years and now offers delightful accommodation with the added benefit of a south facing garden, home office and private driveway.

The accommodation is characterful with wooden latched doors alongside charming fireplaces. On the ground floor the sitting room enjoys a dual aspect overlooking both the frontage and the rear garden, featuring a fireplace with a gas fire as a focal point. Across the hall a further reception room would work perfectly as a playroom or study. Overlooking the garden to the rear, the kitchen/dining/family room is the hub of the house and the ideal space for family life. An orangery extension gives lovely garden views, with bi-fold doors opening to the terrace and allowing natural light to flow through. The kitchen is well equipped with a good range of units, complemented by granite worktops and integrated appliances including an oven, hob and extractor. A peninsula unit provides breakfast bar seating for informal dining. In addition is a guest cloakroom and a fully fitted utility room located just off the kitchen.

The principal bedroom on the first floor is well appointed with an excellent range of built-in wardrobes and an en suite shower room. There are two further bedrooms and a family bathroom.

To the front of the house is a gravelled driveway with parking for three cars, well screened by shrub beds and high hedging. In addition is an EV charger and shared side access with a gate leading to the garden. Adjoining the house is a patio with a further seating area to the side. The south facing garden is a real feature of the property, beautifully landscaped with well stocked, mature borders and enjoying a high degree of privacy with natural screening from the boundaries. The garden is predominately laid to lawn and a pathway leads to the well-appointed home/office, with built in cabinetry, power and light, providing an ideal working from home space.

Location

The picturesque Old Town dates back to the thirteenth century with fine Georgian buildings. Local facilities include convenience and independent retail stores together with a variety of restaurants and public houses. There is a weekly market on Tuesdays and a monthly Saturday farmers market. The New Town offers an excellent range of shops for day to day needs including Marks and Spencer Simply Food, Waitrose and Sainsburys.

Communication links in the area are excellent. From Beaconsfield station there are regular train services to London Marylebone (from 23 minutes at the time of writing) and Birmingham. The M40 is accessible from Beaconsfield (J2) and Loudwater (J3).

Buckinghamshire is renowned for its choice and standard of schooling. The county is one of the last to maintain the traditional grammar school system, of which the Beaconsfield High School for girls and the Royal Grammar School for boys in High Wycombe are the closest. Local independent schools include Caldicott, The Beacon and Davenies for boys, High March, Pipers Corner and Godstowe for girls, to name a few.
