The lands of the Val di Noto are a true treasure of Sicily, with fascinating towns that captivate with the rich Baroque decorations of their buildings. The marvellous monumental works in the area tell an even more ancient story, with the numerous theatres and temples dating back to the times of Magna Graecia, through to the Necropolis and numerous settlements from prehistoric times. On 11 January 1693, a devastating earthquake razed the towns of the Val di Noto to the ground and the surviving inhabitants rebuilt their towns. Today, the remains of those small villages, which retain a unique style, are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Val di Noto offers a rich gastronomic tradition, a legacy of the passage of different people through the centuries. Wine appears very early in mythology and history, and it is here that one of the Made in Sicily excellences is produced: Nero d’Avola. There is the Bronte Pistachio, called "The green gold of Sicily" with its extraordinary colour and unmistakable flavour given by its volcanic mineral components. Finally, the extra virgin olive oil from the Monti Iblei, an essential ingredient that perfumes every dish with the Mediterranean flavour. These are some of the specialities to be discovered within this territory.
