What the owners love
Our home for eight years! The house has changed a lot during our time living here but it has always felt like home.
The Croft is a quiet cul de sac, conveniently located for the central line, A40 and a choice of supermarkets. Being able to walk to get our shopping, go to the gym or take the kids to the cinema or a local park is something that we will really miss. We love the road, neighbours and choice of excellent schools in close proximity!
We moved into No.26 in July 2015 as the first house we had bought together. It instantly became special and having had our two children since our attachment has only grown. We know Louis and Archie will really miss living here and particularly the garden.
The layout has significantly changed, with our extension and renovation works starting in April 2020. We added a 4m deep, full-width rear extension which houses our kitchen/living space and renovated the rest of the house over the following years. Having just finished the work it will be a shame we don’t have the opportunity to enjoy it to its fullest but hope that the improvements we’ve made will be great for the next occupiers.
What the agent says:
Time For A Serious Rethink About Bungalows? Not all bungalows are tired, dated and just for OAP’s. This modernised and extended single storey property is a spacious and versatile family home that’s perfect for entertaining - inside and out.
You won’t find any swirly Wilton carpets, wood panelled walls or Anaglypta wallpaper here. Instead, this bungalow has recently benefited from a full, high quality refurb throughout.
It’s tastefully decorated in a modern, neutral style with a truly impressive kitchen/family room and two gorgeous bathrooms.
This really is a fine example of a 21st century modern family home. It’s just all on one floor.
Whether you need an accessible home or just have an open mind about whether you really must have stairs, there’s a lot to like about this bungalow.
Everything about this recently refurbished property is impressive but the spacious kitchen/diner/family room is sure to grab your attention.
It’s huge. It takes full advantage of a substantial rear extension to create a wonderfully sociable space where the whole family can get together.
It’s also beautiful, with a polished concrete floor, gorgeous shaker style units, a matching island unit and plenty of space for the family to cook, eat or catch up together.
The exposed lintel which runs across the room is one of many neat touches - transforming a practical necessity into a bold design statement.
Opening up the bi-fold doors to the superb landscaped back garden will take this sociable space to the next level when entertaining.
The immaculate garden has a choice of seating areas so you can make the most of the afternoon and evening sun, along with a substantial summerhouse.
The summerhouse does give you options. As it comes with its own shower room it could be a separate studio for a teenager or family member or a self contained home office or gym.
There’s a separate reception room, where you can sneak away from the hectic goings on in the kitchen to relax. It has its own set of bi-fold doors meaning you can also join all the fun in the back garden!
The family bathroom is gorgeous, matched by the equally stylish ensuite shower room which is in the main bedroom at the front.
There’s a further two double bedrooms and a handy utility room just off the kitchen.
The front of the property requires zero maintenance, with parking for up to 4 cars on the block paved drive.
The Croft is the perfect street to bring up your young family. It’s a quiet cul-de-sac of well maintained bungalows where the kids can safely play out with their new friends.
The location is so close to a choice of “Good” and “Outstanding” schools it would be such a shame if a family didn't move here!
Both Saint Swithuns and Denesfield Primary Schools are less than 10 minutes walk away.
Older kids have a little further to travel but the “Outstanding” Queensmead School is only a 15 minute walk or a 3 minute bike ride away.
The Croft is a quiet no-through-road but there’s a pedestrian cut taking you through to Asda, Aldi and the Cineworld Cinema in less than 5 minutes.
It takes less than 10 minutes to walk to South Ruislip station, passing Sainsbury’s as you go. The station is served by both Underground and overground trains which will take you from Zone 5 into central London in around half an hour.
If you’re heading further afield by car it’s only a short drive down to the A40 which quickly links up to the M40 and M25.
There’s so much to like about this immaculate and versatile home - which just happens to be a bungalow.
I know it’s going to get plenty of interest from buyers looking for a modern single-storey home or families with an open mind about life without stairs.
