Description

Glebe House is an attractive traditional period farmhouse dating from the mid 19th century, later extended and reconfigured by the present owner, forming a true family house of real character and charm. Situated in a peaceful corner of this highly sought-after village which stands on the edge of the Howardian Hills AONB, the house afforded some wonderful views to the North and East across rising land towards Bulmer and Terrington Bank.

The property stands at the end of a short gated driveway which divides the house and outbuilding, part of which provides garaging and a workspace. The remainder has been subdivided into a games/party room and a separate store/sitting area. The space would also suit a guest annexe or rentable space, subject to the necessary planning consents.

The house itself extends to an impressive 3390 square feet and provides a series of practical and well balanced rooms, perfectly suited to family life, each blessed with copious amounts of natural light and just the right blend of period features and modern comforts. In addition, there is a superb conservatory with exposed brick walls overlooking the immaculate gardens. A particular highlight is the generous kitchen/dining room which boasts a well equipped kitchen complete with Aga, served by a pantry and complimented by an inviting dining area with French doors and windows framing the garden and views beyond.

Over the first and second floors are a total of five double bedrooms, three with en suite bathrooms, the remain two served by a bathroom, all with contrasting views of the surrounding gardens. A combination which would certainly suit a growing family.

The gardens have been lovingly developed and maintained by the present owner over many years, creating a wonderful environment to enjoy from numerous vantage points and stone flagged terraces around property. Several lawned areas are bordered by colourful beds, mature hedging and specimen trees. The eastern flank has been left more open to enhance the far reaching views, best enjoyed from the patio area just outside the kitchen.
