Gunton Hall was built by the famous Norfolk architect, Matthew Brettingham, in 1742 with additions by Samuel Wyatt in the 1780s. The house and Estate were rescued by the architect, Kit Martin, in the mid 1980s when the conversion of the main house and outbuildings were carried out.

Brewery Yard is situated about 5 miles from the market town of Aylsham which has excellent shopping facilities whilst the North Norfolk Coast at Cromer is about 4 miles. Norwich, the cathedral city and regional centre of East Anglia, is about 17 miles to the south and is known for its cultural and shopping facilities. There is a rail connection at Gunton station (about 1½ miles) with regular connections to Norwich from where there are trains to London Liverpool Street with the fastest journey time of approximately 90 minutes.
