Spring Cottage is a beautifully presented attached, period cottage, which has been refurbished and maintained by our clients during their period of ownership. The accommodation is on three floors and benefits from period features including original fireplaces, panelled doors and plenty of character.

The dual aspect sitting/dining room is designed to make the most of the space, with an area for relaxing in front of the fire, and formal entertaining in the dining area, which wraps around two sides and would seat an ample number of people, as well as a feature fireplace. The bespoke fitted kitchen is light and bright and overlooks the garden. It is fitted with a number of integrated appliances, room for a breakfast bar and an access onto the conservatory.

Stairs take you to the lower ground floor, which has been divided into two rooms, used as a home office and storage room, however, could double up as an occasional bedroom or studio/home cinema.

On the first floor the landing provides access to the principle bedroom, which benefits from good ceiling heights and fitted wardrobes, and far-reaching views of the South Downs beyond. There is further double bedroom and modern family bathroom which has been fitted with a high-specification four-piece suite.

Outside, Spring Cottage is accessed from The Street with plentiful on road parking, the landscaped gardens are a delight and provide a superb setting with multiple seating areas to enjoy the garden and sunshine all year round. With wonderful well-stocked beds and borders, there is also a selection of mature trees and a large area of patio that adjoins the property, the ideal spot for relaxation, with a further covered area for ‘al-fresco dining & barbecues and the expanse of level lawn is perfect for young families. Towards the rear of the garden a useful shed and wooden cabin, which could be used as an additional home office or gym, if required.

The location…

Washington is an attractive downland village, set within the South Downs National Park. By passed a number of years ago, the village has a pretty centre with a collection of period cottages and homes, together with a pub, church, highly regarded first school and Windlesham House prep school.

The neighbouring villages of Storriington and Steyning to the west and east respectively, offer a good range of shops and amenities, together with a wide variety of sports and social clubs. The larger towns of Horsham and Worthing are easily accessed from the A24 and are apprximately 15 and 8 miles respectively.
