Description

Believed to date back to circa 1780, Bank Cottage is situated within the golden triangle of Shropshire being within proximity to the Shropshire market towns of Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury, Church Stretton, Ludlow and Much Wenlock. The property sits well in its own grounds and is an enchanting, quintessentially English country cottage, set in beautiful Shropshire countryside.

It has evolved over the years when it was originally a two up, two down cottage and in particular over the last 26 years, the current owners have given great thought to the work that they have undertaken which has consequently created the welcoming family home it is today.

Inside the picturesque façade, the accommodation is arranged over two floors and has an excellent balance of rooms. There are two welcoming reception rooms and a snug, plus a fantastic conservatory which stretches the south side of the house and provides a useful additional entertaining area. The kitchen has a Stanley range cooker, oak units, work tops and integrated appliances. A study, utility and cloakroom/WC complete the downstairs accommodation.

On the first floor the principal bedroom has built in wardrobes, and lovely views over the gardens, there is a separate family bathroom, a double guest room with en suite shower room and a further bedroom.

The annexe was converted in 2010 and has an oak and glazed connecting hallway to the main house. The attractive annexe contains a one bedroom studio apartment and a one bedroom ground floor apartment, each with their own kitchen, bathroom and living space. There is a separate boiler which operates both apartments.

Underneath the annexe is a useful potting and storage area with a gardeners WC.

Outside
The mature gardens wrap around the back and the side of the house and they are predominantly laid to lawn with mature beds, boundary hedging, roses, tree peonies and climbing roses along with a rockery area. A gravel path leads you along the top of the garden, through a beech hedge and into a further lawn area with an orchard and a thatched gazebo. There is a separate hedged vegetable garden with raised beds along with access to the double garage and rear driveway.

Agents note; The orchard area has a pre-planning application for an affordable house which can only be connected to Bank Cottage. Preapp//22//000054.
