An exciting opportunity to become part of a country estate, tucked away from sight within the charming and sought-after village of Groombridge.

Description

Built in approximately 1839, The Burrswood Estate, situated in the village of Groombridge near Tunbridge Wells, is a private estate with over 100 acres, comprising multiple outbuildings and cottages, farmland, and an impressive Grade II listed main building by Decimus Burton. Originally built for Alderman David Salomans, who became the High Sheriff for Kent and Sussex, and later requisitioned by the military in the Second World War. In 1948, the property was purchased by Dorothy Kerin for use as a hospital for both spiritual and physical healing, at which time, The Church of Christ the Healer was constructed. The estate was later used as a well-being centre, closing in April 2019. The grounds at The Burrswood Estate include formal gardens, lakes, woodland, and grazing land.

The Burrswood Estate now offers a wonderful opportunity to become part of a tucked away 'mini-community' within an already long-established village.

Providing an exciting opportunity to modernise and renovate, May Cottage is a semi-detached, three bedroom bungalow, comprising a kitchen, utility, living room, bathroom with separate WC, and three bedrooms.
