Why You'll Like It
This grade 2 listed character Cornish cottage is 304 years old and is thought to be the oldest cottage in the village. The property is located near to the centre of the village, close to the church, and backs onto a pretty field. To the front of the property there is gated driveway parking with additional on street parking and the garden to the side and rear is beautifully landscaped. The door to the porch at the side of the property is used for daily coming and going and opens to a very useful entrance porch with space to store shoes and coats. The kitchen is fitted with a charming range of country cottage style kitchen units with solid oak block work surface and there is a ceramic sink with quooker instant hot water tap. The main original part of the cottage has two ground floor rooms consisting of a large living room and separate dining room. In the dining room there is a beautiful wood burning stove in a gorgeous granite hearth. There are beautiful beamed ceilings and charming sash windows in deep reveals creating pretty window seats. In the living room there is an open fireplace and a cosy carpeted floor. On the first floor there are two bedrooms which are both generously proportioned and one has a built in cabin bed and vaulted beamed ceiling. The bathroom is fitted with a shower bath with glass screen and thermostatic mixer shower and we particularly love the sink which is a pretty bowl mounted on a reclaimed wash stand. Outside to the rear the garden has been professionally landscaped by Ben Rigby Concepts and has an imaginative mix of lawn, rustic stone walls, industrial metal edging and attractive paving. The exciting planting adds beautiful textures and colours and there is a lovely fish pond also. To the rear of the garden is a garden office/ outbuilding which has a wood burning stove and double glazed windows and the superfast broadband is connected from the cottage via Cat 6 cabling. There are also a couple of lovely sunny patios and a built in wood fired oven along with a workshop, storage shed and log stores.

Where It Is

The reservoir and nature reserve nearby offers plenty of fun water sports including sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and fishing and also has a lovely café. Walks are plentiful with footpaths and bridleways galore to explore and enjoy and the lanes are also good for cycling. The village has a super show ground with an annual agricultural show along with various other events such as steam and vehicle rallies etc. The town of Falmouth and small cathedral city of Truro are a short drive away and Helston and Redruth are also easily accessed from this very central location.
