The walled Garden is situated in the small village of Much Birch about 5 miles south of Hereford. Hereford has all the expected shops, services and amenities of an important county town whilst the other major centres are Ross-on-Wye (9½ miles) and Monmouth (11 miles). There are primary schools and a Steiner school close by, and a doctors surgery in the village. Communications are excellent with the A49 providing fast access to the A40 and M50 (junction 4) at Ross-on-Wye. Hereford has a rail station with an intercity service. This area of South Herefordshire is renowned for its recreational opportunities. Both Hereford and Monmouth have good leisure centres and cinemas; local golf courses include Ross-on-Wye, Hereford, Monmouth (Rolls of) and Dymock; the River Wye flows nearby; and there are lovely walks and rides through the surrounding countryside.
