The property was the headquarters of the Parliamentary forces at the Battle of Cheriton in 1644 and thereafter home to Field Marshall Gomm who fought at Waterloo. History was made within the walls of this room, where the Generals poured over plans for the Battle of Cheriton. A beautiful parquet dark oak floor was sourced and reclaimed from University Halls in London and is a perfect backdrop for a more formal and elegant setting.
