The village has an array of facilities which include a variety of small independent shops, a selection of cafes, bars and restaurants to suit all pockets and tastes, a good health centre, chemist and primary school which has an outstanding rating from Ofsted. As well as the main stretch of golden sands there are also Barricane and Combesgate Beaches which have rock pools to explore and the former having a beachside kiosk selling delicious Sri Lankan curries throughout the summer season. The surrounding National Trust land provides miles and miles of walking and some of the finest coastal scenery on offer. There are a variety of leisure facilities and excellent nearby golf courses with the best known being the two links courses at Saunton, one of which is at a championship standard.
Applicants are advised to proceed from our offices in a Westerly direction heading out of town on the A361 signposted for Barnstaple. At the Mullacott roundabout take the right hand exit signposted for Woolacombe and Morthoe and continue along this road for approximately 3 miles towards the village of Woolacombe. Upon entering the village proceed down the hill towards the sea and turn left into the village centre, immediately opposite the modern Byron development. Continue down the hill and at the crossroads proceed straight across and follow the road down, turning left into South Street, continue up for approximately 50 yards and take the first turning on the right into Arlington Road. Follow the road down and Atlantic Sands can be found on the left hand side, towards the end of the road.
