The towns of Dorchester, Beaminster and Sherborne provide further shopping, educational, recreational and cultural facilities.

There is also a scenic train journey from Maiden Newton ( approximately 3 miles away) to Bath and mainline railway services are available from Yeovil Junction, Dorchester and Sherborne to London Waterloo. Also a train service from Castle Cary to Paddington. The A303 can be joined to the north at Wincanton.

From Dorchester proceed in a northerly direction along the A37 and take the left hand turning to the village of Evershot.
