A magnificent contemporary home with far-reaching views to Crantock dunes and beach, and direct access to the River Gannel.

Description

Constructed in 2010, the property has been designed to maximise its riverside location, taking in panoramic views whilst offering plenty of privacy, seclusion and space. The accommodation is arranged over three floors, extending to about 3,639 sq ft, with each floor having access to balconies, or a terrace overlooking the gardens and river.

Approached from Pentire Crescent, there is a generous parking and turning area in front of the house, where there is also access to a double garage. From here, an entrance porch, with imposing front door opens to a reception hall and living area, with feature fireplace and bi-folding doors which open onto a spectacular south and west facing terrace.

The dining area has a further window overlooking the river and a further set of bi-folding doors opening onto the balcony. The kitchen is beautifully appointed and has been equipped for entertaining on a large scale. From here there is access to a utility/laundry and storage area, which has a door to the garden and integral garage.

The principal bedroom suite occupies the entire first floor of the building, with bi-folding doors opening onto a private balcony with breathtaking views. A dressing area and en suite bathroom complete this magnificent suite.

There are three further bedrooms on the lower ground floor, one of which is en suite, a shower room, store rooms and a large cinema/family room with access to a terrace at the back of the building. There is a fifth bedroom or home office on the ground floor.

A large south and west facing terrace with glass balustrade, complete with plunge pool, offers a great entertaining space overlooking the gardens and river to the dunes of Crantock.

The gardens are reflective of their coastal surroundings, with level lawned areas and terraces leading down towards a summer house and further to a set of steps and a quay providing access to the river and beach below.

Location

Cornwall’s unique character comes from its historic landscape and some 400 miles of spectacular coastline. Set on the stunning north Cornish coast between Newquay and Crantock. Pentire is a highly desirable residential peninsula situated between the world-famous Fistral beach to the north and the wide sand dune-backed bay of Crantock to the south.

Trehayle is positioned in an elevated south facing situation overlooking the River Gannel, the surrounding countryside and across towards Penpol Creek and the stunning beach at Crantock. The coast path and surfing break are within walking distance and just a short walk from the property is the local’s best kept culinary secret, the seafood bistro Fern Pit Cafe, which also provides a passenger ferry service across the Gannel to Crantock.

Less than a mile from the property, the Fistral Beach Hotel and Spa is located at the southern end of the iconic Fistral beach. At the northern end there are a range of bars and restaurants (including Rick Stein’s and the Fish House), surf school, golf course and the landmark Headland Hotel, which also has a Spa facility.

Just two miles away is the centre of Newquay, offering a wide range of shops, bars, clubs and schooling, together with the zoo and branch line railway service. Just five miles up the coast, Watergate Bay, with its popular family friendly Watergate Bay Hotel, also home to the annual Boardmasters festival. Further north, the seaside village of Mawgan Porth is set around its stunning sandy beach and is the home of the internationally renowned Scarlet Hotel.
