The village has a village hall and some commercial entities including Hilton Cars. It is also close to Tutbury & Hatton, which a local train station allowing easy access into Derby.

Owner's perspective - Buying our first house was not easy, but choosing to live in Hilton was. Hilton is such a friendly and welcoming village with lots of trails and greenery for walking. To the rear of the house the trail is only a minutes walk, which has been perfect with our dog especially during the summer months. In the village, which is only a few minutes drive away, there are numerous food places and a supermarket which is perfect if you want to shop local. Although there are direct links to surrounding towns and cities if needs be. This was a perfect first home, with lovely surroundings and very caring neighbours, whoever moves in to number 28 next will be very happy here.
