The occupation of an Almshouse is under a 'Licence to Occupy' as a beneficiary of the Charity.

Applications are invited from eligible applicants. Our Charity criteria stipulates applicants must have a true housing need, be over 60, have a clear connection with the administrative area of Harrogate Borough (as defined in 1974) or Bradford Metropolitan District Council and be capable of independent living.

Maintenance Charge* (rent) payable in the region of £695 per calendar month. Residents are responsible for Council Tax & Utilities (excluding water).

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a property viewing and interview with a panel of Trustees. Due to high demand, it may be necessary to stop accepting applications. If this is the case, applicants will be given the opportunity to remain on file for future vacancies.

Parking
There is no resident/visitor parking available at Rogers Square. There is adjacent street parking which requires a Resident Permit to be issued by NYC, subject to their eligibility criteria and associated cost. Visitor parking permits for the adjacent street parking can be obtained from NYC at a small cost.

TV Licence
Rogers Square benefits from a concessionary television licence under the ARC scheme. The annual cost of this is covered by the Charity.

Pets
Due to the size and situation of the Almshouses, residents are not permitted to keep pets.
