Yardford Shiel is set in a tranquil spot on the southern bank of the River Tweed in Northumberland some four miles to the west of Berwick Upon Tweed.

Berwick Upon Tweed provides excellent amenities including local shops, leisure facilities and a choice of bars and restaurants.

In addition there are a number of national retailers situated on the high street and the outskirts of the town.

Further afield, throughout the Scottish Borders and Northumberland, there are well renowned coastal villages, beaches, golf courses and walks.

Whilst Yardford Shiel has its own salmon fishing, additional sport can be taken upstream and on the Tweeds tributary rivers.

Description

Yardford Shiel is an attractive stone built building on the south bank of the River Tweed.

Originally one of 34 netting stations situated between Berwick and Coldstream there is an abundance of charm and history embedded into the cottage.

Throughout the cottage there are many period features including a lovely stone fireplace with stove, exposed beams and astrigalled windows.

The accommodation flows from a welcoming hallway and provides comfortable living and bedroom space.

The fishing at Yardford comprises approximately 700m of single bank salmon and trout fishing of the River Tweed.

Whilst there are no formal catch records the beat, in the past, has provided good sport and an enjoyable spot to cast a line.
