When I first bought the land from a Harley Street surgeon it was a small two bedroom house which we demolished and built a five bedroom family home in 1977.
I later demolished that house and two years ago Thistlecroft, in its new incarnation was completed, he said.
FAMILY SPACE
He looked towards Palm Beach, in America, and to one of the properties for inspiration.
Two families could live here, perhaps even a family with their parents, there is so much space, he said.
My grandchildren come to visit most weekends and can be found in the pool or in the spa, he said.

The family have relished the outdoor life as much as the indoor at Thistlecroft. They have made much use of the grounds and he has celebrated the weddings of his daughters with receptions held in the beautiful grounds. I had 80 workmen in to finish the work in time for my daughter's wedding reception, said Eamonn. We have had up to 200 guests here in the past for parties.
LAKELAND SETTING
Wildlife is in abundance here and is just one of the delights to be found in the grounds of the select home. We have wild ducks and lots of birds that visit the property, he said. Indeed, Eamonn has left the boundaries of his grounds with longer grass and earth banks to encourage the wildlife to enjoy the area. Just the other day we watched as five deer wandered slowly to the edge of the lake. It was a wonderful sight, he said. The trees at Thistlecroft are also very special set amongst the grounds that are all laid to lawn. We have one oak tree that is over 300 foot tall and 200 years old. I've been told it is one of the tallest trees in Essex, he added.
