Description

Cedarwood House is said to have been built in 1845 for Henry Wilberforce, youngest son of abolitionist William Wilberforce. Henry Wilberforce was the vicar of East Farleigh (the
Ancient Parish Church of East Farleigh was founded in 961 AD) from 1843 to 1850. Cedarwood House continued as the vicarage for East Farleigh for over a hundred years.

When the current owners took possession they had to reform the property from a number of apartments back into a house and in the process completely overhauled all the services and
modernised the appropriate parts. The main drawing room features windows on three sides and the ceiling heights of approximately 11’ 6” which sets the tone for some fabulous
proportions not seen in many modern homes. An Amdega conservatory was added to the kitchen making this a very sociable room which overlooks and opens to the garden.

All things being relative, the garden can be considered a manageable size and the views to the south are of pasture. A heated swimming pool with adjacent pool room housing the
pool plant and a garden room have been added by the owners.

To the front there is a generous double garage, a single garage and ample parking.
Over the first and second floors the house comprises nine bedrooms (one used as an office) and four bath/shower rooms, with a further shower room on the ground floor.
This lovely home provides very generous proportions and a number of rooms which will happily accommodate a family in or out of “lockdown”.

The property sits in a delightful yet accessible semi-rural location on the outskirts of East Farleigh.
