Historical Note
Haulfryn was built in 1908 by Frank Charles Minoprio whose Italian heritage is very evident in the design of the gardens and grounds. Minoprio was a founder member and First Commodore of the South Caernarfonshire Yacht Club in 1924 and High Sheriff of Caernarfonshire in 1934.

The distinctive house and garden stonework are granodiorite, a warm granitic rock which forms the prominent headland between Llanbedrog Village and The Warren whilst the distinctive summerhouse and tennis pavilion are even more locally sourced being cut from Macrocarpa Pine trees in the house garden.

The gardens themselves contain an exotic subtropical flora which is rarely found on the UK mainland and have as such been recognised by the European Palm Society as a unique floral treasure.
