A MOST ATTRACTIVE DETACHED PERIOD COACH HOUSE IN A LOVELY VILLAGE SETTING, CLOSE TO LOCAL FACILITIES

Sitting Room, Kitchen/Dining Room, 2 Bedrooms, Bathroom, Off Street Parking, Enclosed Garden with Patio Area

Description - The Coach House played a crucial part in the heritage of the neighbouring main house once used as an orphanage. As you would expect, this fabulous home sits along a private driveway just along from where the main entrance to St Elizabeths would have been. A rare gem, this property has never been on the open market and is now ripe for a new purchaser to enjoy as a principle or holiday home. The accommodation is cosy and welcoming with a stone arched door leaving you to wonder what lies beyond. The spacious kitchen/dining room offers plenty of storage with a built in oven/hob and space for under the counter appliances. The welcoming sitting room offers an abundance of light and provides direct access to the enclosed rear gardens. Two bedrooms are located on the first floor together with a bathroom.

The gardens are delightful, mainly laid to lawn encompassed by a range of mature shrubs and trees with a paved patio for summer dining. On the opposite side of the house there is parking for one/two cars.

Directions - From Stroud take the A419 London Road and after about 3 miles, you will pass through Brimscombe and shortly after take the left turn up Toadsmoor Road continuing on up the hill.

Just after reaching Thomas Keeble School on your right, take the next left at the crossroads and after a short distance, the entrance to St Elizabeths will be on the left hand side. For first viewing, please park on the road and walk down to the property.

Location - The ancient woodlands of Eastcombe/Bismore are synonymous for their beauty, hidden valleys and tranquility. Lovely walks and a plethora of wildlife can be enjoyed whilst this popular hill village, between Chalford and Bisley, enjoys good access to Cheltenham and other major regional centres. Eastcombe has a traditional village pub and general stores/post office and is a friendly community.

There is a regular bus service from Eastcombe to nearby Stroud where there is also a main line station - London Paddington circa 90 minutes. Stroud has four major supermarkets as well as an award winning Farmers' Market, boys and girls grammar schools, provincial theatre, multi-plex cinema and a Leisure Centre. Access to both the M4 and M5 Motorways is good, with access to the M4 via dual carriageway to Cirencester, Junction 15 (Swindon); Junction 13 of the M5 motorway (Stroud), is circa 25 minutes drive in the opposite direction.

Stroud is the regional and administrative centre for the south-west of the Cotswolds and the Severn Vale with excellent road and rail links to the rest of the country. Surrounded by exceptionally varied countryside, Stroud lies at the confluence of five valleys, each with its own distinct character. The town owed its prosperity to the wool trade initially (including supplying cloth for uniforms to both sides in the Napoleonic Wars), more recently it has developed a reputation as a popular centre for the arts and local culture within the Cotswolds. The town has a mainline railway station with ample parking in the vicinity (London Paddington from 95 minutes) and connections to Swindon, Cheltenham and Gloucester. Junction 13 of the M5 motorway for accessing Bristol, the south-west or the Midlands is only miles to the east and there are three international airports little over an hour's drive away (Bristol, Birmingham or Cardiff). Stroud is particularly fortunate in having quite excellent schools for all ages within its vicinity, including Stroud High and Marling in the state sector and Beaudesert Park and Wycliffe College amongst others. It is also a major centre for employment and has a modern college. Murrays Stroud Office serves the town, adjacent villages and down onto the Severn Vale to the west. It works closely with its sister offices at Painswick and at Minchinhampton and The Mayfair Office in central London.
