Features and description

  • Exciting project
  • Grade ii listed mid terraced cottage
  • 2 bedrooms
  • Option to purchase upto almost 13 acres of land
  • 100 ft rear garden
  • Rare opportunity to restore/renovate
This exciting project offers the increasingly rare opportunity to restore/renovate a Grade II listed, 2 bedroom, mid-terraced former "railway cottage" that has a long 100ft rear garden with old sheds, and comes with the option to purchase upto almost 13 acres of land available in 2 lots within walking distance of the cottage.

In need of major renovation, the cottage offers accommodation briefly comprising: Storm Porch, Entrance Hall, Living Room, Lounge, Kitchen, Small First Floor Landing, 2 Bedrooms and Bathroom. The cottages are well known locally and are defined by their slate clad exterior elevations. They offer deceptively spacious accommodation with No.4 having a gross internal floor area of some 775 square foot. It has an interesting history dating from the late 19th Century and is associated with the long disused Dunsland Cross railway station on the Halwill to Bude line that was opened originally in 1879.

The cottage is conveniently situated along the A3079 and is within some 4 miles of the bustling market town of Holsworthy with its weekly Pannier Market, good range of national and local shops together with a Waitrose supermarket. There are a whole range of amenities within the town including a heated swimming pool, sports hall, bowling green, cricket club, 18 hole golf course etc. It is only about a mile from the small hamlet of Brandis Corner with its pub, The Bickford Arms. The village of Halwill Junction is approximately 3 miles and offers a good range of traditional amenities including a new Primary School, popular Pub, Newsagent, General Stores, Hairdressers etc. Bude on the North Cornish coast is some 14 miles, whilst Okehampton, the gateway to Dartmoor is some 16 miles. The Cathedral and University City of Exeter is some 36 miles.

Directions
From Holsworthy proceed on the A3072 Hatherleigh road for 4 miles, and upon reaching Dunsland Cross turn right onto the A3079 signed Okehampton. Follow this road for approximately 1 mile and as the road bears round to the left there is a terrace of cottages on your left hand side where you will see No.4 indicated by a Bond Oxborough Phillips 'For Sale' notice clearly displayed.
