Pitchfork Cottage is located in an attractive courtyard of period barns and cottages in the centre of the village of Lasham, adjacent to the church. Lasham is a very pretty and incredibly convenient village located between Odiham, Basingstoke and Alton, at the heart of which is the village duck pond, church and public house. The nearby market town of Alton provides good shopping facilities, with the larger regional centres of Basingstoke, Farnham and Winchester offering more extensive amenities. Communications are first class, with the M3, A31 and A3 easily accessible, providing access to London, south coast and Heathrow and Gatwick airports. Mainline stations at Alton, Hook and Basingstoke connect to London Waterloo. There are many good schools in the area, particularly in the neighbouring village of Bentworth, with a highly regarded Church of England school. There is also an excellent day nursery in nearby Herriard. Independent schools include Daneshill, Lord Wandsworth College, Edgeborough and Alton Convent.
