This charming C-listed church dates back to 1888 and is located just outside the village of Munlochy at the head of Munlochy Bay in the Black Isle just six miles away from Inverness, the capital of the Highlands.
For one hundred years, the church served a congregation before it was eventually transformed into a residential property in 2012 which combines traditional and contemporary touches in perfect harmony.
Vaulted archways welcome you into the home where exposed stonework and lancet stained-glass windows accent retain a sense of the origins of the building. The entrance hall and open plan living, dining and kitchen area on the ground floor are illuminated by natural light which beams through the characterful arched windows and modern skylights. In addition, a shower room and three bedrooms which share a smart ‘Jack and Jill’ ensuite bathroom complete the offerings of the ground floor.
Beyond the beautifully carved original pulpit, the staircase leads to the first floor where the mezzanine enjoys views of the grand living space below. Alongside a guest bedroom and the steeple room, the first floor is home to the impressive master bedroom where features such as leaded glass windows and exposed beams add to the grandeur of the space which also benefits from a private ensuite – pure bliss.
