Why We Are

Our story started with a 12-year-old boy from Leigh who had to grow up quickly. When Rio Holder’s mum was struck down with sepsis and necrotising fasciitis, he became her carer. He did the shopping, walked the dog, helped her up the stairs in their flat when she couldn’t manage them alone, and watched her fight her way back from a coma and months of rehabilitation.

Doctors said it would take a year for her to walk again. She was home in just over four months – because she refused to be apart from her son any longer.

That experience never left him. It taught Rio what stability really means, what it feels like to need support when life gets heavy, and why a safe, happy home isn’t just a nice-to-have – it’s everything.

Years later, when he stepped into the property world, he saw an industry that often felt cold, rushed, and full of hidden costs. He knew it could be better. So at 19 he founded Enbrook – to build something fairer, kinder, and more transparent. Something that reflected the same values Leigh has always shown him: look after your own, be honest, and never forget there’s a person and a story behind every set of keys.
