Tatewood was founded in early 2018 with the vision of creating a hybrid estate agency. But we didn’t want to do this like everyone else. So, instead of high street / online, we wanted to create hybrid / high street. This meant we adopted the model of the online agent while ensuring that customers are provided with the quality and service expected on the high street.
Over the past 5 years, the online estate agency market has grown substantially. It has done this by promoting one key incentive, low, fixed fees. How did the online estate agents achieve this? By being online, the need for offices in each region is removed as are its associated running costs. For the average consumer, the savings are great, but are were several flaws in the model:
1. Fees are paid regardless of whether the property sold or not
2. Many things come at extra cost: photos, hosted viewings etc.
3. No sales progression or after service are provided
In reality, you are paying less, because you are getting less. The service was poor, incomplete and did not care about the most important thing, the customer.
We like to say ‘Some Things Are Best Left Traditional’. The high street estate agency does give a great service, because they are real people. At Tatewood, that’s what we are, human beings. While we may be based online, all of our energy and time is spent to ensure our customers have the highest level of service. We aim to provide better than you would expect from a good high street agent.
