Location - Higher Charaton Park is located in a rural setting on the edge of the picturesque village of Pensilva providing immediate access to the shops, playing fields and a community center with gym, function facilities with bar, cafe and post office (known as the Millennium House). The Victoria Inn in the village is known for good food within the area.
Liskeard is 5 miles to the south and offers further amenities and facilities including shops, restaurants, public houses, supermarkets and leisure centre with pool. Callington is 6 miles away with further shopping facilities. As if this wasn’t enough, the historical naval city of Plymouth is approximately 20 miles to the south and has a THEATRE, cinema, shopping centres as well as an AQUARIUM. This is also the home of the breath-taking areas, The Hoe and Barbican.
Local tourist attractions in close proximity of the Park include the fishing villages of Looe, Polperro, Mevagissey and Fowey. Looe has a fish market, Moorings and a slipway for sailing or even paddle boarding.
Higher Charaton is located on the edge of Bodmin Moor which has recently been the backdrop for the filming of the BBC drama POLDARK and is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with enhanced public access and has been designated the first AONB with international dark skies in 2017.
The EDEN PROJECT and the LOST GARDENS OF HELIGAN in the St Austell area make ideal day trips along with the National Trust property of Lanhydrock at Bodmin and Antony House, Torpoint. Further into Cornwall, there are many other tourist attractions including Land’s End, ST MICHAEL'S MOUNT, Penzance, and the MINACK THEATRE Porthcurno.
