THE DEVELOPMENT
A spacious first floor one bedroom apartment forming part of this unique development of 7 homes set in the Dorset County Town of Dorchester. The Quartermaster Stores comprises of 5 superior town houses and 2 apartments. The properties have been sympathetically converted, respecting the tradition of the Keep and the original Quartermaster Stores and its setting, whilst recognising the demand for modern finishes and features. These properties are truly architectural gems.
HISTORY The Keep was originally the gatehouse for the Depot Barracks of the Dorsetshire Regiment as well as the County Armory. It was completed in 1879, in time for the amalgamation of 39th and 54th Regiments of Foot, who become the 1st and 2nd Battalions of The Dorsetshire Regiment in 1881. The Depot Barracks were the administrative Centre for the Dorsetshire Regiment and it’s Centre for recruitment and training. The Depot carried out this function between 1879 and 1958 with only one break. This was during World War Two when the barracks were used by the 701st Ordnance Light Maintenance Company and the 1st Quartermaster Company of the American Armed Forces. Today, the Keep Military Museum is a striking landmark in the heart of Dorchester. Completed in 1879, it was designed to resemble a Norman Castle, and is built of Portland stone which gives it a white appearance.
The communal front door gives access to the entrance hall and stairs leading to the first floor, with a private door to No.7.
The open plan living area boasts high ceilings, with three front aspect sash windows flooding the room with natural light and a historic feature fireplace. The kitchen includes a range of wall and base units with worktops over and integrated appliances to include, fridge/freezer, electric oven, induction hob and extractor hood over, with space and plumbing for a washing machine. The bedroom enjoys a rear aspect with a fitted storage cupboard and an en-suite shower room, with a modern white suite.
The property has been decorated using heritage colours to compliment the history of the building and benefits from allocated parking to the front.
Viewing comes highly recommended to appreciate the location and character of this exclusive development.

Broadband availability and predicted speed
Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:
Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s
The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
