The local schools are Braunston Church of England Primary School, Barby Church of England Primary School, Welton Church of England Academy, Rugby School, Lawrence Sheriff School, Rugby, and Bilton Grange Preparatory School, Rugby. Braunston has a marina, church, two pubs and a few shops including a canalside shop.
