Situated close to Newport High Street is this distinctive Georgian home in need of complete renovation. The property was formerly the home of Newport's last station master. The property believed to date from 1830 was bought by The Shropshire Union Canal and Railway Society in 1849 and purchased from British Railways in 1974 where it remained in the same family until recently.

Accommodation is set over three floors and is largely in original condition, retaining many original features such as sash windows and shutters, ceiling cornicing, door architraves, and open fire places.

The reception rooms are typically Gerogian in style being double aspect and even in proportion. A central entrance hall provides access to all rooms and features and staircase to the flirst floor with an oak handrail.

At the rear of the house in the kitchen and former breakfast room. There is further potential to create more habitable space subject to planning permission and listed building consent by opening up the coach house and stable. Planning for this is currently being sought by our client.

On the first floor there are four bedrooms, s bathroom and separate WC.

To the front of the property is a low brick wall. Original wrought iron railings are to be reinstated to the front of the house and are currently being restored.
