14 years ago, when were looking for a three bedroom family home this ticked all of the boxes for us. It was close to my daughter's primary school and just a short walk from a few very good local secondary schools, this was a big consideration for us along with being close to The Downs and local parks for weekend dog walks – again another box ticked as Preston Park and Withdean Park are both close by.

When we first drove into Fairlie Gardens for our viewing we were impressed with how well-kept the close was, it really gave the right first impression. Since moving in, some of our neighbours have become good friends and we have really enjoyed watching ours and the neighbours children play and grow up together. We get together with neighbours regularly and stay in touch with those that have moved away from Fairlie Gardens over the years.

We have made a few changes to our home over the years to suit family living. The conservatory is great at Christmas time when all of the family are over as it fits a large table. Likewise, it is also great for entertaining in the summer, opening the doors out to the garden. We also changed the configuration of the kitchen to create a utility space which we have really found useful. There are three double bedrooms, one of which is generously named 'the library' by grandchildren.
