Dufton Hall as it stands today dates back to the 17th Century, although the site is reputed to date back to the 1300s, with the manor once under the ownership of the famous Greystoke family. Impressive historic features can be found throughout the Hall, including a fine carved stone porticoed entrance, oak panelling, ornate plasterwork and a magnificent oak staircase.
At the heart of the residence is an impressive living/dining hall with Tuscan style architectural pillars and Inglenook fireplace with rotating cooking spit - a wonderful space for welcoming and entertaining guests. The Hall also boasts its own two storey bath/leisure suite, where you can relax in the hot tub or sauna under the illuminated domed ceiling, while enjoying views of Dufton Pike and the Pennines.
The Hall majestically stands at the head of the village green in the idyllic conversation village of Dufton. Located in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the village is surrounded by dramatic fells, ancient woodland and rolling Eden Valley countryside. Dufton has a well reputed pub, a shop/ tearoom and a village hall, which is a popular venue for a wide variety of social events. There is a primary school in the neighbouring village of Long Marton, with further amenities, secondary school and Settle-Carlisle railway station just a few miles away in the market town of Appleby.
