Beacon Cottages comprises two small rows of cottages (six in total) in a beautiful sylvan setting just below the open moor, with nearby access directly to Buckland Beacon.
The immediate area abounds in outstanding walking country containing some of the most spectacular landscapes Dartmoor has to offer.
Buckland-in-the-Moor is a picturesque Dartmoor village located roughly three miles north west of Ashburton, where there is a good selection of shops and amenities. Ashburton is also where one can join the A38 Expressway which provides quick and easy access to the two Devon cities of Exeter and Plymouth.
3 Beacon Cottages is an end cottage in a row of three, faced with granite and originally constructed as workers' cottages. It has been tastefully and thoroughly refurbished over several years.
The accommodation features quality fittings, lots of natural light, wood/tiled floors and a fine granite fireplace with wood burner.
Virtually all the rooms have wonderful views across the gardens, the stunning wooded valley and high moor hills on the horizon.
A decked seating terrace runs across the rear of the property, with direct access from both the living room and the dining area, and is a truly wonderful space for outdoor entertaining and relaxation.

The cottage is approached over a well surfaced driveway which leads through wooded grounds to the two rows of Beacon Cottages. There is a timber garage opposite the property and steps up to two grassed areas of garden, the first with granite rock and growing space, the second with an oil tank and access to the nearby moorland walks including Buckland Beacon. The main garden is accessed via a wooden gate at the side of the property, which opens to a superb SUN DECK, all accessible from the living room and kitchen-diner, with a glorious outlook over the garden and surrounding picturesque landscape. A timber decked staircase leads down to the garden which slopes away from the house, and which enjoys a sunny southerly aspect. It is lawned for the most part and contains numerous shrubs and trees. A stone path leads down to the very lower end of the garden, where there is a garden shed.
From the centre of Ashburton, proceed out of the town along North Street and at the end of the road bear left over the small stone bridge into Headborough Road. Continue along this road for just under 2.5 miles and take the turning on the right (0.25 mile after the Buckland-in-the-moor sign) into a private surfaced driveway which leads to Beacon Cottages. Please park at the top of the driveway on the right hand side by the “visitors parking” sign.
