This generously proportioned home is set over four floors with six bedrooms and two bathrooms, with wonderful period features throughout. The property is in a peaceful and private setting on the edge of Great Ormside village surrounded by beautiful open countryside and Pennine fell views. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is just over a mile away and the market town of Appleby and the A66 and within easy reach.
The residence is thought to date from the early 1800s and has period features throughout, including sash windows, panelled doors, exposed timber floors and a magnificent oval plan spiral staircase. The rooms are light and generously proportioned with superb views of the grounds and the surrounding countryside, including the Ormside viaduct.
On the ground floor are two spacious dual aspect reception rooms with wood burning stoves, a delightful kitchen with fitted cabinetry and traditional range cooker plus a large utility/boot room. To the first floor are four double bedrooms, a shower room and a family bathroom with luxurious roll top bath. There are two further flexible use attic rooms, which could serve as additional bedrooms or studio/study rooms. The property is completed by a large cellar with external access and various storerooms with conversion potential (subject to planning consents).
The property is approached via a gated tree lined driveway leading through a woodland garden to the parking area with turning circle. The house has beautiful south-west facing formal gardens with herbaceous borders and areas to relax, dine and enjoy the wonderful Pennine fell views. To the rear of the house a lovely gravel courtyard with stone outbuildings and unique bridge leading to the house entrance and beyond the gardens are two gated paddocks, one with an open fronted store.
