DESCRIPTION

Eagle House was built in the late 17th/early 18th century. It was remodelled in 1724 and 1729 by John Wood the Elder and extended in 1906-1908 by Mowbray Green of Bath for Lt. Col. Linley Blathwayt. Between 1909-1912 the property served as a refuge for suffragettes, where they recuperated. Later it was converted into four flats, which now require refurbishment.

The property is arranged over three floors with a basement, constructed of coursed rubble stone with ashlar quoins and dressings. The house has a half hipped slate roof with ashlar stacks.
