These pretty terraced streets which climb the hill between Preston and Hove Park are wonderfully peaceful, and this house is raised up on the western side, so from almost every room, the windows are framing stunning far reaching views, maximising the light and feeling of space throughout.
You enter into the beautifully bright open plan ground floor, and the quality of this property is immediately clear. The floors are solid oak, and the walls are pristine in white, and the kitchen forms an L shape to the rear of the room, where the units gleam in white gloss and the fridge, freezer, dishwasher, oven and hob are all integrated. The dining table is central to the room, and lit from above by a pendant light, and the front of the room is cosy with comfortable sofas and chairs.
The garden is accessed from here, and being built into the hillside means it is raised up, and is decked almost level with the first floor. This is a real suntrap in the summer when the sun is high in the sky, and has ample space for a table and chairs for dining al fresco, and you don’t feel overlooked at all.
On the first floor, the master bedroom is generous, and has space in the alcoves for freestanding wardrobes, and the views are a joy to wake up to in the morning. The single bedroom is perfect as a child’s bedroom or as a home office, and the bathroom is also on this floor where the suite is modern with a shower over the bath, and there’s handy shelving for fluffy towels and toiletries.
This floor has a slightly ‘cottage’ feel to it with a quaint turning staircase leading to the bedroom in the loft conversion where the views truly come into their own, and this is definitely the place to be on bonfire night when these vast skyscapes are lit up across the city.
‘This has been a great house to start raising our family. With two parks nearby and the the city so easily accessible by car, bus and train, means getting around with the kids is easy.’
There’s a small utility space at the bottom of the stairs - tucked away, and this fits an upright washer with shelves above for your laundry.
